Focus on Infection Control: Ukraine Increases Demand for Sterilization and Disposable Products

In 2023, Ukrainian healthcare institutions increased their focus on infection prevention and control. This trend was reflected in the rising demand for disposable instruments, sterilization packaging, and disinfectants — both in public and private clinics.
According to procurement data and pharmacy distribution reports, items such as disposable gowns, surgical drapes, sterilization indicators, and antiseptics saw a sharp rise in sales.
This growing demand prompted manufacturers and distributors to adapt their product portfolios. Products with CE marking and ready-made Ukrainian-language documentation (IFU, labeling, declarations) had a competitive advantage in customs clearance and market access.
Importers from the EU and China played a key role in maintaining stable supply chains, while new brands entered the Ukrainian market under simplified wartime procedures.
